Training in various aspects of plumbing and Heating Engineering.

Maintaining of Stock and supply of fittings where required

Assisting Plumbers and Heating Engineers on site as part of a team.

June 1983 Chainperson \ Office Cleaner on A55 Contract 1B, Colwyn Bay, North Wales. Assisting Resident Engineers on site, keeping Offices clean and assisting in Main Stores.
November 1983 Transferred to M25 Maple Cross as Stores Assistant. Planning ahead and working in co-ordination with Senior Checkers, and liaison with Site Personnel, Buyers & Accountants within budget. Later solely involved in controlling and checking of Materials on site. April 1985 Transferred to M25 Swanley-Sevenoaks. Assisting in Production Planning as well as Materials Control. Oct 1986 Initially employed on a temporary contract. Sorting and checking of fired roofing tiles in accordance with BS standard. Learned how to work quickly and proficiently in a factory environment.
April 1987 New automated system for sorting of tiles introduced. Offered full time position monitoring the production of ‘green’ pre fired roofing tiles. Duties included quality checking as well as responsibility of keeping area clear and assisting engineers with any breakdowns.

Contract Auditor

April 1990 Started as Agency worker in Main Sorting Hub at Parkhouse East Industrial Estate. Sorting parcels on Night Shift by numbers onto various belts for further sorting by ANC personnel.
July 1990 Employed directly by ANC on Night Shift. Initially sorting Parcels into cages but over next four years was utilized in all areas of Hub. During this period ANC expanded on several occasions and installed new automated sorting equipment to keep up with the rising volumes experienced during this period.
Jan 1995 Following short period covering promoted to Weight Checker and transferred to the Commercial Department. Part of compliance team reporting direct to Commercial Manager Identifying of consignments with under-declared weight with subsequent financial loss to the company. During this period figures rose from 25,000 kilos to 45,000 kilos average under-declared weight per week.
June 1996. Temporary covering position of Contract Auditor within department. Monitoring and inspecting of contracts previously identified as trading out of profile – items bigger/heavier than maximum declared size of contract etc. Later promoted to position full time. Became proficient in use of business software (Word, Excel, Lotus 123 etc.) and e-mail and use of company database in the preparation of reports for Contract Clerks and senior management within the Hub.

Water Leakage Technician Assistant

Offered position after personal recommendation by Company Senior Engineer.
Opportunity for new challenge in field with some experience.
Surveying of Trunk Mains on contracts with Severn-Trent in Coventry and Southern Water in Brighton. Communicating with both client and customers verbally and through correct paperwork.
Leakage Detection contract in Stoke-on-Trent. Water leak detection, identifying possible areas, locating of bursts by use of maps, examination of fitting, using visual and audible methods and correlation and pipe detection equipment.
Sudden downturn in work resulted in employment only lasting short period.

Aug 1998 – June 2000: Hewitt Refractories, Fenton, Stoke-on-Trent

Working within dispatch Warehouse. Packing of Pottery Kiln Furniture, fittings and preparation of paperwork.

Occasionally assisting in loading and unloading of Kiln Cars in Production area.

June 2000 Business purchased by Dyson Industries. Transferred to Dyson Ceramic Services, Hartshill, Stoke-on-Trent - Working within Production Control Department. Using computer to log orders, stock checking and producing schedules for production of required items. Using T card system in conjunction with section managers to log timetable, completion and dispatch of work.

Field Service Operative

Mainly part of a mobile two-man team, occasionally with multiple teams or working individually
Assisting Technicians and other operatives in cleaning, inspection and servicing of Water and Air based cooling systems to HS (G) standards.
